Has anyone else noticed the distinct lack of chests in explorable areas?

I regularly do a quick Supplies/Jade Arena run out of Breaker Hollow (Cantha - Factions) - Normally there will be between 3 to 5 chests, now you are lucky if you come across one.

I also do once a day the Domain of Secrets (Elona - Nightfall) Lightbringer Points run - Normally there are 3 to 5 chests - Last trip I did (Yesterday) there were none.

This all seems to have come about since last weekends gaming event and its reset.

Seen fewer chests in UW and FoW than normal also.

I've noticed it too. I'm lucky if I see one or two chests in an entire area.

I've recently gone for the grandmaster cartographer title in elona and I also noticed a significant drop in chest spawns. Some areas were like always some others had no chests in them. And when mapping you usually clear the whole map, so I'm sure to not having missed chests. Noticed this in the vabbian and desolation areas, but that's very likely because I don't bother with chests in kourna or earlier.

I also noticed a dramatical decrease in the quality of chest drops. Finished my first level of the treasure hunter title while mapping. Missed 40 chest to get to a total of 100. Got two golden drops when starting to map vabbi, but that's about it. All other chests were purple chests. The last chests spawned drops that bad, that I even thought about dropping them on the ground again.
Has ANet introduced some rediculous anti-chest-farm code?

ahh.. was wondering that as well.. i needed just a few more gold for third tier wisdom and have a few keys taking up inventory... so this past weekend, i went around Drazach Thicket area and thought.. where are the chests? usually, i'd get 5 per run... but seemed like a couple of times it was just a couple..

I have literally just finished my usual Domain of Secrets run and the chests seem to be back to normal - 5 chests I came across. Hopefully, all the other areas are back to normal as well.

Whats an easy way to reduce drop rates..? remove chests. People complain about how nothing is rare anymore, here's your answer.

I could be totally wrong but it's certainly a possibility.

I've noticed the opposite with NF. I find lots of chests in the explorable areas or when I'm just doing quests. But in missions, I rarely if ever have found any chests in NF. Factions and Prophesies, I see chests all the time in missions.

I think they tried to nerf CRing.

I was in the stygian veil. and when we went in a hallway where some popups are a chest appeared at 1 of the popup groups. it wasn't there be4. cause we used that spot as a safespot.

I don't know if any1 can confirm this. or if it's just happend to me and my group.

i did a couple of fow forgemaster runs recently
a chest spawns with the quest where you take out the groups of beast and abyssl's

i think they have added chest with quest activations

ye i noticed that in fow as well. when we did the defend the forgemaster quest a obsidian chest spawned. also when i was in the spider cave i was actively looking for chests and one appeared as i walked by it when there wasnt one there b4.

when i do solo fow runs as well after i do the spider cave i run around looking for chests. i used to find 3-5 now im lucky if i find 1 or 2

Same as the others.its seem chest need some trigger before they just appear which usually by quests.

Yeah this happend to me in Stygian Veil too. Also, this has happend to me twice in the deep.

Tasca's demise spawned 3 chests, and 5-6 in mineral springs when I went capping yesterday, that is more than i've ever seen before.

Them I found Torment chests have been lesser as well. Must be bugged at the moment.

I went on a little (20keys) chest-run in RoT. There were only 1-2 chests each time while usually 4 or 5 on same route.

I was wall mapping the Poisoned Outcrops yesterday and found two chests within 20 feet of each other.
